Hi! This is the main Fediverse account of a blog about LINux on MOBile devices – linmob.net. It's has been restarted in 2020 because of the PinePhone.

Used to be https://identi.ca/linmob. Also on the birdsite: https://nitter.net/linmobblog.

This profile is from a federated server and may be incomplete. Browse more on the original instance.

Since I missed the beginning of the stream, here's another important bit of information for the crowd:

Also, they are switching to a subscription model from August onwards, which, IMHO, makes sense if you want them to have resources to invest into SailfishOS.

Q3: Sailfish 5 - unless I missed something, details will follow later.

@jukkaeklund That largely depends on what you'll need/use it for, for me, as a boring "f-droid.org if possible, and then that security app for my online banking-guy" it has worked more then well enough on the Xperia 10 III. 🙂

Here are the specs for the Community Phone.

In all likelihood, this is a UniSoc Tiger T606 (https://benchmarks.ul.com/hardware/phone/Reeder+S19+Max+Pro+S+review) powered phone:

@stdevel This is just some community service, I think. It's a limited edition, affordable device with a Unisoc chip, so ... meh ;-)

This may be a controversial, but I am glad that they are switching to a subscription model to finance and push forward Sailfish OS.

#Jolla Community Phone / C2:
just announced on stream (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nEC3sVExAU). No info on SoC, shipping with Sailfish OS 5.

Now they're announcing some trustworthy 100% private, user-controlled AI thing - that's supposed to be helpful with everyday tasks. I am not hype on AI, but if the promises hold up, that's interesting.

@popey Jolla are doing an event, the voice briefly appeared 15 minutes ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nEC3sVExAU - I can try to send you a timestamp later :)

This is the device that was demoed:
