For at least 10 years I've had a career goal of speaking at a conference.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to achieve this goal, but I've finally done it. 😊

It was an improvised 5-minute lightning talk about doing #DocsAsCode from scratch at a small company.

The audience seemed to respond well, some people talked about it with me afterwards, and I achieved my main goal of telling lots of clever knowledgeable people about the challenges I'm trying to address. Yay!

🎄 Work festive gathering today, we went to a place where we did a bunch of challenge rooms, then a funky mini-golf place, then drinks and dinner. It was all lovely.

👨‍🔧 Got a bit discombobulated by what seemed like a sudden direction shift at work yesterday, but today I was able to talk about it more with bosses and it's really not the big deal it seemed yesterday

🤕 Reading the book about trauma is HARD and I can only do it in short bursts, but it feels helpful

🎮 After all these years, I still get a lot of joy out of playing The Sims

(... and I recently installed Wicked Whims et al ... it's added another dimension, one might say)

👗 Comfy dresses with big pockets and swooshy skirts

🚲 Visited my ebike at a friend's place to take photos of it (for someone who might want to take it off my hands) and it wasn't nearly as consumed by ivy as I'd expected

🐎 Playing Sims 4 horse ranch is more fun than I'd expected. I'm wildly allergic to horses so can't do horsey things in real life. Pixel horses are fun though.
