Re-landscaping construction continues next door keeping me inside, but also reminding me how precious is this neighborhood’s silence 99% of the time.
My roses are resting, but all jasmine & oleanders are in full bloom, and a couple of crape myrtle blossoms have appeared. (Pics below only show a portion of plants.)
Amazingly good & amazingly easy homemade wor won ton soup last night, with leftovers for tonight.
Still exhausted from the last dinner I’ll ever host, but everything is cleaned up, including the dirty dishes I put away neatly in the cupboards. 🤬 (I thought I ran the dishwasher; it must have been a Vicodin dream.)
Granddaughter took the family’s first dip into NC son’s new pool, in the rain.
Vagabond son & DIL hiked 4 miles into Bryce Canyon at 8000’ elevation. Got some great photos & survived. Also survived the motorcycle ride to the national park.
it was damp and cool this morning, and mainly cloudy this afternoon, which kept the temperature mild all day. My short walk caught a bit of sun in the evening but I still wore a jacket anyway.
:blobpartlysunny:
my grocery delivery came with only one substitution and one shorter life item. The birds are provided for too as I got a new large bag of seeds.
a friend called and chatting with them helped me summon up some energy for my evening walk
#3GoodThings@3goodthings 1) Got scan appointment through 2) Worked out how to avoid roadworks 3) Made veggie chilli (so happy to be able to stand and cook from scratch again - even if I am v tired after)
rescued and refilled the bird seed feeder, which had somehow fallen onto the ground The temperature is a lot milder today with plenty of clouds, which is a relief after the heat of the weekend

Finished my #StationEleven rewatch, which firmly solidified its place in my top three shows of all time.
Cuddles with my cat.
Even though I really didn't want to, I managed to drag myself out of my depression pit to walk in the lovely spring weather while listening to my gay little pop music. It did, in fact, help.
Life isn't always easy, but I'm lucky that it's not usually that hard to think of three good things.
Short but lovely walk by the river. Stopped for coffee at a place where you can just sit and listen to the sounds of the river.
My Honesty seeds have germinated! I haven't had any in the garden for years, so I will be pampering these little plants to ensure these grow into healthy plants.
The music of #Khruangbin has been keeping me super-chill for the past two frenetic weeks. I've been listening to A La Sala on repeat.
Did a whole lot of work on articles and other stuff this morning, clearly in my Super Academic phase. By end of the week I'll be an exhausted and limp bundle, though.
Scored a jar of peach preserves although it required me extroverting myself enough to ask a nearby tall stranger to grab it for me from a tall shelf. (I'm 5"6 but the shelf was considerably higher). Tall dadbro (with toddler) was momentarily puzzled but acquiesced. Whatevs, I was embarrassed but YAY I finally got a new jar (finished the other one already).
Social night out with my work team, and then last minute aurora chasing due to the crazy levels of activity (we don’t normally see it like that here)
Loads of people out at the park and the coast, new to any astronomy, just because they wanted to see the aurora. Nice to see people learning how to spot and photograph a natural wonder! ✨
Catch-up with family from all around the country, for my uncle’s birthday. Good food, chat and sunshine ❤️ @3goodthings
