From 30 May, New Zealand’s four major banks - ANZ, ASB, BNZ and Westpac - must offer the secure payment service - although some already have it in place....
I am in some of the industries you mentioned, and no, it’s not common. Not yet anyway, but some unscrupolous actors would love to get that ride going. People need to push back, or we will be so far under the thumb, we won’t be able to breathe.
Yes, it’s a slippery slope though. “Oh this is so easy” so you use it. That’s step 1. Then “Give us your data for your rewards”. Oh, I love rewards! $10 off my groceries a week. Then “Your insurance just doubled”.
About bloody time. I just spent a month in Taiwan. It was about this pricing. Initially I was booking taxis, using cars. Then when I saw the price I just stopped, and went all in on public transport. Fast, easy and cheap.
If it’s affordable, people will use it. Great to hear.
Price is s big factor though. Maybe not to you, but to many it is.
However frequency also. If I missed a train in TW, there’d be another come along soon. So I want stressed, running to get the train. Missed it… no big deal.
I’m doing a Big Lap right now. Working from my laptop as I go. I’m quite fortunate.
However, the sheer number of homeless people living in vans (if they’re lucky) and cars is astounding.
This is a new phenomenon to Australia (at this scale), and I don’t believe most people realise just how very many people there are living in their cars.
The regional towns lie bundaberg, grafton, etc are just loaded with people in this terrible situation.
I’d say this is the perfect time to start a really regular and dedicated games review site. They have to start somewhere and if you’re trusted and good then you’ll get a following.
