It’s definitely not generally cheaper in Germany if you only need to move regional. But I’m interested in a comparison with any other country. I guess an urban area would be a requirement for a fair comparison.
I read an article recently about kids not spending much time outdoors anymore. One of the main reasons not mentioned here seems to be that the majority has nice rooms for themselves at home, and they enjoy the time they spend there.
Kids rooms are a lot nicer nowadays, and often they don’t need to share it with a sibling as they might have 30 years ago. Also the amount of toys has risen, I suppose.
Not that this is entirely a good thing. Children need to spend more time outdoors. But let them enjoy their indoor time if they want to.
Crazy that he killed himself out of shame for occasionally smoking a joint and “other illegal drugs”. Sure, it’s a broad description and there could be harder drugs involved. But I can’t get my head around the fact that in Hollywood, he probably just would have booked himself into rehab.

They are far right wing, and the AFD state division of Thüringen is considered extremist and is under surveillance of the Verfassungsschutz (domestic intelligence services). They have a lot of proven Nazis in their ranks and the party leadership does absolutely nothing against it.
So IMHO it’s safe to use the blanket term Nazis for the AFD, although they of course don’t see themselves as such.
Nun, auch wenn ich das mit meinem Kind nicht unbedingt plane, kenne ich Fälle, bei denen das sinnvoll ist.
Das sechsjährige Vorschulkind einer Verwandten ist eine Art Wanderer. Es verschwindet ab und zu und streunt durch die Gegend. Es ist schonmal von den Nachbarn drei Straßen weiter aufgegriffen und von der Polizei zurückgebracht worden. Es gab mehrere ähnlicher Vorfälle, es scheint einfach das Bedürfnis zu haben, seine Umgebung alleine zu erkunden. Einsperren wäre da auch nicht richtig. Das Verhältnis zu den Eltern ist übrigens sehr liebevoll und eng.
Da fände ich so einen Tracker als Armband z.B. gar nicht falsch.
Wer seinem Kind aber mit 12 Jahren immer noch nicht genug vertraut, der macht was anderes falsch und das kommt sicherlich irgendwann auf die Eltern zurück.
Morgen fahren wir nach zwei Wochen Campingurlaub auf Korsika die letzte Etappe der 1300km langen Rückreise. Wir wussten, dass wir unserem Kleinen (1;2) eine Menge zumuten und es hat zum Glück super geklappt. Rückblickend würde ich so eine lange Reise mit so einem kurzen aber doch eher nicht nochmal machen....
