I'm thinking, for a change, of not buying a local SIM (or eSIM) for my upcoming trip to Switzerland. It's only ten days, so if I use data sparingly and stick only to wifi on some days, I should be able to use my Australian number on Telstra's $10/day international roaming day pass, and not spend much more than a new SIM. Hmmm worth a try I think.

@timrichards how much data/day do you generally find you use while travelling? We're off to Spain/Portugal next month for a month. I presume my data use will be considerably higher than at home

@timrichards we're flying in and out of Paris in July, catching the fast train down to Basque country for our holiday. Judging by the pictures, the $400 hotel room we booked for the night before our return flight could quite possibly be the worst hotel room I'll ever stay in.

@jpm my favourite bit is getting the kids to put their arms through the leg holes of their pajamas and then getting confused when they can't get their head through. Admittedly it's starting to get tired, after 7 years straight

I wasn’t expecting the girls to share clothes for another few years, but the 1 year old toddler is rocking her 5 year old sister’s hoodie. To be fair, it almost doesn’t fit little miss 5 anymore, and it’s a touch big for the toddler…

@jpm A two year age gap between our 5 and 7yos is more like a four year age gap in clothes sizes. Miss 5 still fits into some size 3 stuff
