Ajout: Mais c’est vrai qu’il y a une asymétrie entre le temps nécessaire pour écrire un commentaire ou une publication, et le temps nécessaire pour downvoter… 😏 Ceci dit, tout le monde n’a pas forcément le temps pour argumenter et les votes +/- permettent quand même de participer à la discussion. Un peu comme les « aye » et « nay » dans la chambre des lords. ;-)

This is something I’ve been trying to figure out on my end. I run a community instance for creators at spectra.video, and so far it’s been a pretty good situation. The community is fairly cozy, we don’t have many problems with spam, and we connect with a handful of really good partner instances that we like and trust....

I am trying to get into Mastodon (never really used twitter before but I am curious about the fediverse) and it has been noticeably difficult to search for topics and content. Most search queries turn up blank or only with one or two posts. Some hashtags appear as suggested with “0 people talking” and indeed, they are empty....
Very few instances have full text search enabled at the moment, usually using a special version of Mastodon. Iirc it will be coming to standard Mastodon (as an option) in the future.
