Today we are releasing raw-window-handle v0.6, the primary feature of which is borrowed window handles. The main goal of this feature is that it makes it possible to pass around window handles in a 100% safe way.

I’m hoping that this significantly reduces the amount of unsafe code in use in the Rust GUI ecosystem! If more crates can become forbid(unsafe_code), that will be awesome!

@seanmonstar I find myself agreeing with this. I’ve been bit by an async fn suddenly becoming !Send without me knowing on more than one occasion .
