Out doing the unit inspections again, having a breather before a couple later this afternoon.
So far:
One which the agent had been touting but which I only vaguely liked. Didn’t help that there was a literal traffic jam trying to park and then practically one inside, not to mention so many dramas getting an inspection that it was never available for viewing before it went on market.
One where there wasn’t room to swing even a small cat
One beachfront one with a prime view of the local toilet block
One that was okay but nothing special.
Now about to head off for the next lot!
Second lot of unit inspections done.
First is the favourite - unfortunately owners seem committed to going to auction. Also small kitchen and no dishwasher and no room for one. 😕.
Second was nice but kinda small overall, though more storage space in the kitchen and a dishwasher.
Still got a month and a bit before I really have to choose something, and the estate agent I’m in touch with most said a few places will be ready very soon, so fingers crossed!
Called up Cennalink because the situation with the car and the payout is enough of a grey area that I need to talk to an actual person.
45 minutes and counting. 😖
In your position (I was in similar with Felicia) I’d check with the mechanic first and they’ll tell you whether to get the parts and bring it in or go to either a car place that sells radios or somewhere like JB HIFI and have them do it.
I’m in the south east so can’t help you with recs, alas.
That was exactly it - it would have been more of a hassle to reverse out, given the pillar, the van on the other side and the local Karen population driving around in their SUVs on their mobiles.
Only downside was I would have liked to use the hatch but the back seat did just as well.
Someone hooted me for doing that in the Chelsea Woolworths car park when I still had Felicia. Bet they didn’t expect someone in a Volvo 740 to give them the finger… 😂
Surreal moment today: me, a blondeish woman of a certain age in a Volvo V70 wagon, blasting Counting Bodies Like Sheep through its (excellent) stereo. 😁
Me: * hunts for glasses *
Sams: * screams for snuggles *
Me: Dammit, cat, I am trying to find my fucking glasses.
Sams: * wanders over and nonchalantly pokes them *
Me: * snuggles Sammi within an inch of her life *
That’ll teach me to check my roster first thing - I got dressed for work, opened the app and realised that I don’t have any clients today - my normal Tuesday morning is now Wednesday, at least for this week.
At least when I phoned the office to double check the receptionist and I had a good laugh together.
My mechanic is so good I changed cars for him (albeit when that one was written off). Definitely sticking with Volvos at least until they retire - hopefully won’t be for a while!
