Thanks for all the congratulations on the unit acquisition yesterday. I’m still settling into believing it’s real, especially after two let-downs.
It’s going to be strange not obsessively checking the real estate sites and doing the rounds of the OFIs every Saturday.
Now to continue with Operation Sort Shit and decide what to take and what to dispose of.
Got pipped at the post again for a house - we were told all the way that it was a matter of the highest price and in the end the seller went with the other offer because they could offer 30 days settlement and ‘she wanted to give it to the first home buyer’. Never mind the fact I am, too - the house was Mum’s.
Ah well, it would have taken at least $10k just to get it habitable, and that’s before putting in things like a split system unit and blinds. And there’s another property - a unit this time - just about to come up in a better location and ready to move in or nearly so. But still.
Yeowza. One job I ended up doing in Clayton (first one cancelled) had the storm hit halfway through and they lost power - their son said all the way to Ringwood and not expected back until midnight.
Fortunately all good in my area but until I got to the Dingley bypass most of the lights were out, to say nothing of the trees with half the branches gone and the odd ambulance. 😬
Haven’t even looked at the bookkeeping, nor have I tackled the garage, but I’m purging the bookcases and going through old magazines we’d set aside for later and never got to. At least the yellow bin is filling up nicely.
Six places on the list viewed (plus two not, but they’re out of my price range so they don’t count), four boxes and two pictures dropped off at the op shop and a quick Aldi run done.
I think I’ve earned a prosecco.
Second mix up with clients and time this week - currently waiting for a client who thought I was coming at two instead of 12:30, so I’m sitting waiting until she gets home - hopefully in about 20 minutes.
At least it’s warm and sunny.
Ha. Second day in a row there’s been a miscommunication with a client.
On the plus side she’s safe and well and I got paid for a two hour shift where I sat around or did my own Aldi run. 😁
Took advantage of the coolth to do some much overdue leaf raking. Green bin is nicely filled for next pickup.
Now for a relaxing day after all the running around yesterday.
