Random question for all you photo people:

Have any of you been contacted by a small Argentinian gallery via Instagram by any chance?

In this particular case I don’t think it’s a scam, but it felt kinda impersonal and indifferent, so I’m wondering if they maybe just hit up a lot of people and see what sticks.

@tim Oh wow! Haha I guess my account is too small for those.

But yeah that's kiiinda similar to my case. The thing is … they aren't asking for a ton of money. Only 15 Euro (16USD). That's what got me wondering if they maybe ask lots of people, or what else their motivation might be. They certainly didn't care about my photos.

@tim Yes, maybe it’s really just that. 😔

I’m still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, though. Maybe they really are a small indie gallery with a fine tuned system of showcasing unknown people’s work. I would be so happy if this were true.

But their communication was so unenthusiastic, that I doubt they even looked at one of my photos. That alone is reason to decline.

I realized that the was the main reason the platform didn't appeal to me much.

Here's a first attempt at decluttering it a bit, tweaking the colors and reversing the layout.

@antonpodolsky Love this! I have the same problem and find myself using all kinds of different clients. None of them are perfect either, but at least they don't look like the native UI.

@antonpodolsky @rolle Thanks! I’ll have a look at it. I’m currently using Elk as a we client. It’s nice and does its job. I also liked Mastodeck, but it clearly wasn’t built with photography in mind.
