I was already sick of all the freaking Taylor Swift ads but Roku announcing that video ads are coming to the home screen was the last straw for me. Finally set up a Pi-hole and Roku ads are gone. I know it’s an ongoing war and this is just one battle, but damn it’s nice right now. I even became a supporter on Patreon. ❤️

I still run uBlock Origin on all my browsers, though.

My dodgy friend, I have appealed to my wife not once or twice but three times that we should drop all our subs and return to those placid waters that I sailed in my younger days. We don’t keep bread in the house anymore but occasionally I want cinnamon toast. Nuke a little butter, mix in sugar & cinnamon, enjoy on saltines. It’s a little messy because the sugar and butter won’t completely emulsify but it scratches that itch when I’m baked.

I hear you, though I think this is less about education and more about getting folks to fork over $9.99 a month. Like so many others, I’ve a long frustrating relationship with Microsoft. They’re literally the largest company in world atm and they just keep laying off people. I don’t hate them quite as much as EA or Comcast, but it’s getting pretty close.

My recollection is that the books use a fairy tale setting with the addition of a lot (and I mean a lot) of explicit sex. I don’t remember any vampires, but it’s been years.

As for the quality, “good” is subjective. I would say they are…effective in what they aim to accomplish insomuch as they are premium wanking material. 👍

Incidentally, she published the Sleeping Beauty books under a pseudonym. Not sure when it became widely known that she was in fact the author.
