Finally had a smart meters fitted. EDF had been pressuring us for years but I never trusted them but i switched to Octopus who appear to be a lot more customer focused and were able to set up a smart meter installation really quickly. Our electricity use is really low but because of the below freezing temperatures we are spending £12+ a day on gas! Need to have a think about our heating!

Google have now stoped Sitemap ping endpoint from working as they did advise they would be doing some time ago - https://seroundtable.com/google-sitemaps-ping-endpoints-no-longer-work-36692.html

Knowing this was coming I added an update field in my #11ty front matter that my sitemap picks up as a data point when building the site so that Google and other search engines get a true lastmod date - and they like that.
