The 2024.4 release of has been around for a few days now; and I'm loving labels. What are your favourite use of them? I'm starting to label everything and we'll see what I do with it. Currently using it in automations to target entities with certain labels

@rkaramandi so far I have only labeled my speakers. Makes the template I use for text to speech more streamlined.

@madelena i just thought of something with the new areas and floors structure. What about a way to designate exterior or outside things separate of the floors?

I guess leaving my outdoor areas unassigned works. But just wanted to toss that idea out there in case you see a better way of designating areas as esother interior or exterior since I have one for my deck, one for my shed, and one for my pool.

@balloob @madelena oh. The outdoor flag seems like an easy way to add it to the area while not adding too much. But outdoor floor would work too. I suspect we will all solve it in our own way. Just figured you might want a standard way since I see where HA is going...or at least I think I'm picking up what you are laying down...

So multi room audio controlled by has been something I have been trying to figure out.

And not spend a fortune. Set this up over the weekend. And it works well. And was relatively cheap.

Not super sexy. But totally automated. Well one zone is....

@nocalla @GavinCampbell @homeassistant you could always create a binary_sensor entity using the same template. Then you could put it on a dashboard or being able to see it when it changes. You would also get a time stamp when it changes so you can go back and verify if your dashboard fired.

Would work the same as the template trigger too if it was an entity using the state platform.

Submitted a pull request for updating the mastodon integration.

Added the ability to add media, set the visibility via target to public, private, unlisted, direct, as well as set a content_warning to hide post behind spoiler text, and the ability to mark media as sensitive.

First contribution to core so we will see how it goes….
