The only thing I use Edge for is work because we do a lot of stuff through Azure so it makes some things easier.

But never on my own computers.

I have a separate work laptop and a KVM. I log into one domain on one account. So yeah, it's not an issue for my use case.

As for Teams on Linux, what distro are you running? There is a client for Ubuntu and others based on it. It never gave me any trouble.

I see. I only JUST switched my laptop to Mint so I haven't even gone looking for it yet. I installed the beta probably early last year or maybe late '21 but never noticed it not updating lol Damn, that sucks ass.

And yeah, sorry, I meant a KVM switch. I love working from home. I go to the office about 10-15 times a year and travel for work a few times outside of that and that's enough of seeing some of my coworkers I need. My boss is on the same page. She's gonna be pissed if executive leadership ever take telework away from us.

I think the NA gets all the love, but the NB is my personal favorite gen Miata. I love the popup headlights on the NA but the NB just looks so much more modern to me. I once binged Tom’s Turbo Garage’s whole build of the Thunderbolt Miata. To have an LS-swapped Miata would be a hoot.

But I can promise I’d stay clear of the law in it lmao

I'm not going back even if they do. I like it here.

He’s already a nice, reliable manager around the house. He’s very people-forward.

you can just follow every c/aww you come across from 6 different instances, you don't have to pick one and forsake all others.

That's one of the cons of decentralization. You take the good and the bad.

One of the pros, on that exact same hand, is if you don't like a particular c/aww on a particular instance, you can create your own c/aww on a separate instance and give it the rules you'd like to see in a community where people post cute pictures.

I think the mistake a lot of other newbies are making is believing that this is going to be exactly like Reddit and nothing needs changing ever if we merely build it. No, it's like Reddit, but there are key differences. And you either live with those differences and stick it out until you figure out how it works, you go find another alternative, or you go back to Reddit.

No choice is wrong. Do what works for you.

Coming back to this to say one of the major pros of federation/decentralization is the redundancy will mean you can still get content on Lemmy, even if a particular server goes down. If Reddit goes down, you have to go outside and touch grass. If a Lemmy server goes down, the grass can remain untouched. You'll get content from other instances.

OnePlus 7T

I love this phone. I thought it'd take longer than it actually did to get used to not having a home button anymore, but I adapted in less than an hour. Love how OxygenOS is very close to stock Android. The glass on the back is super slick. Everything is super slick to me. My hands are chronically dry. So I hate all these glass-backed phones.

I've previously used a OnePlus 3, OnePlus One, Samsung Galaxy S4, Motorola Photon 4G, and a Motorola RAZR ve20. I loved my Galaxy. It was my first OLED experience. My OnePlus One felt like kind of a downgrade, but it also allowed me to stop having to sign contracts to get an affordable phone in 2015. Plus, back then, it felt like being a part of something new and exciting. Man I miss Cyanogenmod.

I upgrade basically whenever I need to. The phone I have now is ~3½ years old. The back glass is busted and the battery is starting to lose its life. They will repair it and so I'm thinking of sending it in. I can picture myself using this phone on another 3-4 years barring some kind of carrier stupidity.

No other Android devices. I'm an otherwise Windows/Ubuntu person. Started trying Mint recently. I do have a Fitbit.

I used to have a 4th gen iPod Touch circa 2011 before I got my Photon 4G. iOS 6 ran like crap on it and I was around the corner from building my first PC. I had started using my Android phone for my games and music and such so I just didn't have a use for it anymore. Sold it off and I haven't owned an Apple product since.

The 8, 9, and 10 just aren't exciting phones to me. A battery is some $11 and the back is $31 for parts. I figure once labor goes in, we're probably sitting at 125-150. Maybe 200. I don't know how their repair program works exactly, but I've been curious to give it a spin.

Besides, replacing the battery will make it feel like new again. If I buy a used phone, I'm getting a used battery. And once the parts are replaced, I'm getting the same device back. No migrating libraries or reinstalling apps. Just back it up and mail it off. I have a spare phone I can use for a few weeks in the meantime.

Botw gave me an experience that I haven't had since Skyrim was new - I wanted to go out of my way to explore the whole world. Leave no piece of the map untouched.

Man, what I would give to experience Skyrim for the first time again.

I haven't touched a Pokemon game since X/Y. Black and White 2 were where Pokemon peaked, imho. I checked out after X/Y.
