AI Is Coming For Your Children (shatterzone.substack.com)

Article by Robert Evans (host of of the "Behind the Bastards" podcast): He is looking into the newly emerged phenomenon of AI generated books for children. The cheaply made "books" are increasingly flooding digital storefronts like Amazon and often barely coherent and filled with awful AI generated images.

You are probably on to something there. Chasing the dream of a general purpose chatbot seems to be what the venture capitalists demand though, so we will be stuck with them...

I somehow understand people who still have a community over there, but ultimately these people should realize that them staying over there will convince others to stay too and ultimately that may end up hurting all of them.

Musk said verbatim:

The words “cis” or “cisgender” are considered slurs on this platform.

So yes, simply using those words is now grounds for being banned from Twitter as far as Musk is concerned. So whatever you consider "harassment" or not, is irrelevant.

I agree. Unfortunately it makes perfect sense insofar as they want to outlaw anything that trans people do and are.

I screamed at one of the mods of the r/ModCoord team in the comments of a thread because they were absolutely not willing to commit to that. Allegedly they were making all decisions on some Discord or other which I had never heard of.

For security reasons it may make sense to do that, but the r/ModCoord team had also made it impossible to post anything on r/ModCoord and would not respond to modmail either.

Even in the best possible light: As someone who did some union organizing in the past, it was obvious to me that the r/ModCoord team did not know what it was doing. Whether that was out of ignorance, incompetence or malice is a different question...

Yeah, it’s fair to point out that this only confirms the lived experience of the people most affected by it, but I think the value of those kind of studies lies in summarizing the lived experiences of many, providing numbers and - because it’s from a big org - making sure that the topic gets into the headlines, at least of some news outlets.
