@compost We're keeping as much stuff as possible away from landfill and incinerators. In various ways. All green stuff from the kitchen ends up here. Yes, it's plastic. Yes, potato peels end up there too :)
Our dustpan and duster were requisitioned a few days ago by the construction workers and we somehow managed to survive without them for a while but I finally bought the set today. I didn't even take it inside, I left in on the porch. So when #IdąPsięta started yapping at something in our little garden, something that turned out to be the biggest hedgehog we've seen so far, there was no problem in finding the right tool to scoop the poor thing up and take it somewhere safe.
Right after she laid her eggs and went back to her swamp, a bit before midnight, we secured her nest to prevent foxes from having a feast with fine wire mesh. Soil was too compacted for metal pins we usually use to hold well, so I added a couple of bricks.
