Insurance is a suckers game if you are trying to get insurance on a piece of land that will be underwater in the next few decades. Who wants to take on a risk that is guaranteed to happen?

The thing about insurance companies is they are out to make money. They don’t care about philosophy or the blowing of the political winds. So for them to pull out of Florida they must have analyses that show that pulling out will make them more money than staying in the market. It doesn’t matter if there are people there who need insurance, Farmers is out to make money not give it away in a bad investment.

Have you read the books? If you haven’t read them then the show is good.

If you’ve read the books think of it as a new turning of the wheel. The stories are similar but there are differences and those difference did piss off a few readers who watched the show.

I read the books and I liked it. But it’s definitely a different story.

The production value just isn’t there for such a world. Everything felt small and cramped.

That was a byproduct of the pandemic I think. They started filming at the end of 2019 and had to take a break during the pandemic.

You could do a similar thing with miles gear (military laser tag). Basically if you short out two pins in the laser it turns into a fully automatic weapon instead of semi auto. Good times were had in NTC with this knowledge.

Not true. Kelt-9b is the hottest planet in the galaxy. Kelt-9b has a surface temperature of 4600K. For reference the sun is 5800K and Mercury only reaches 700K. Kelt-9b is so hot because its star has a temperature of 10,000K and the two orbit extremely closely.
