I discovered yesterday that I borked my Immich instance by applying an update that moved the location of the database mount. So a new mount was created with no data in it and my backup script backed this up, overwriting my existing backups.
Apparently, my backup and disaster recovery wasn't thought through very well here. Luckily I still had the old mount directory before the change and was able to restore that.

Ok, the protondrive backend for rclone isn't amazing and seems to be less performant than webdav but it exists and seems to work mostly fine so far. That's a whole lot more than nothing so there's that.

I settled on an imperfect conversion of a novel in PDF to EPUB. Footnotes are very scarce so they're not a big issue. It's a bit annoying that paragraphs are messed up sometimes as that breaks up the rhythm of reading, especially during dialogs but overall it's still nicer to have EPUB on my reader.

Sigh

Just found HeliBoard, a keyboard app on F-Droid which is more up-to-date than OpenBoard and a bit nicer. Also, I discovered a keyboard layout that will let me type in German and English without having to switch layouts. What a time to be alive!

Hey all you #casiocult people! I'm thinking about getting a watch and since there seem to be many people liking these Casios so much, sell me on them.
I'd want a watch that only tells the time (alarm function optional), dumb as a brick otherwise. As little maintenance as possible and durability is a big plus. Also, some water resistance wouldn't hurt. Also, I don't want to be spending tons of money. Are these goals reconcilable?

I seem to recall hearing about something of a rewrite (or so) of KDE's Contact but for the life of me can't remember any details. I also can't find anything about it online. Anyone out there who knows more about this or is my brain just messing with me?
