Re-enacting Memory: 2011 Fort Meigs, Ohio

A very wet year! A graphic illustration of why we don't camp on the flood plain.

Ground was so damp, our fire pits would flood. We built a raft to build our fire upon!

Thank goodness for blockhouse accommodations!!!

Re-enacting Memory: 2008 Fort Meigs. (Perrysburg, Ohio)

Sunday morning with nothing to do, took a little march down to the ruins of Fort Miamis (site of the British camp during the Siege).

Took a pause on the return trip to fire a volley or two to wake up the camp!

A cold, damp day. We were sapped of energy but somehow a dodgy piece of kit saved our day and started a tradition.

Reenacting Memory: 2019 Stoney Creek.

1806 the 27th Regiment were in Maida in Southern Italy.

Supposedly they were bathing in the sea when the French attacked. They responded going into a battle wearing only their belts and carrying their muskets earning the nickname the “Skins”.
