iPhone 15 looks to be a pretty great update, at least for the Pro. Personally I have been holding out for a USB C iPhone so I was going to upgrade whenever that happened but there are some other things that look good as well.
Apple pretty much confirmed it due to EU regulations.
On a side note, I think that level of regulation is dumb. Who decides when it’s time to move on from USB-C when a suitable replacement is made by someone? This isn’t 30 years ago. There’s effectively 2 charger types left. Silly to dictate that one standard needs to be used when the market sorted that out long ago.
I just can’t understand why ANYONE with that much money wouldn’t be a little more careful about where they choose to take risk. A little investigation on their part would have turned up the previous safety concerns.
They said it was related to their use of Bing in their search results and they inevitably removed those pieces of code. I believe it might have stemmed from clicking through from the search to the actual site, but I don’t remember the details. I still trust them quite a bit.
Would it be possible for such a thing to exist? Does it exist already? I feel these need to be addressed as i believe youtube is about to follow reddit, meta and Twitter and tighten up on 3rd parties. So with that being a possible scenario, how would we deal with it as a open source community?
Yeah as others have said the amount of storage would cripple most instances from a financial standpoint. YouTube, privacy concerns aside, is a modern marvel in its own right.
Imagine looking at the chaos of Twitter and thinking “wow, that’s a great idea. I need to do the same”
Twitter is seeing declines in usage and has quickly fallen from its position of having an outsized place in the social conversation to a position of being a train wreck everyone is enjoying watching.
I agree. I’m trying both Lemmy and kbin (although Lemmy makes it much easier to find communities cross servers), but the lack of polished apps for either service can be off putting to the standard Reddit users. Heck, even I’m a bit taken back.
Mastodon was so much further along because it had so much time to be it’s own thing and grow naturally. The threadiverse is being thrust into high gear and it wasn’t nearly as ready for it.

I still subscribe to YouTube TV and don’t care for an alternative, but losing yet another sports channel sucks considering I’m a big baseball fan.
