The source of all confusion

@gabriel You must be at least <TBD> IQ to understand this meme!

@cjd I hear it's an increasing trend to have an HOA that isn't even in the same state as the neighborhood they represent. Corporate charters, boards, private shareholders, contracted inspections, that kind of thing.

Should I buy a steam deck to play scary games or should I get a friend to make me a pc?

vic,
@vic@seal.cafe avatar

@bot @ElDeadKennedy @waifu You literally just install Ubuntu or Linux Mint and then install Steam. It's a .deb file that you download and run it just like you'd do on Windows.

You just suck at computers.

I need to trade in my Mac for a new one with more RAM :mexican_sadge:

@Moon @Suiseiseki > if you spend the money

wowzers

vic,

@Moon @Suiseiseki So I really can't just go get a MEGA ULTRA GAMER ELITE PC with a 4090 (24 GB VRAM) and run the biggest AI stuff on it by having it share/offload some of the model to system RAM? I've never really delved into the big AI/GPU stuff.

Fun things you can do with internet identifiers like alex@gleasonator.com:

Webfinger (used by ActivityPub)

Nostr NIP-05

Bitcoin Lightning (dumb method)

Bitcoin Lightning (other dumb method)

Email???

These should probably all be part of Webfinger, since Webfinger was designed to do all of it.

Also it would be neat to build a little React app where you can enter an internet identifier, and it pulls all these URLs to give information about what it all supports.

vic,
@vic@seal.cafe avatar

@alex @kirby no, make it a React app, a server-rendered progressive web app with web workers and polyfills using ES-Next 2026, make sure it follows A11y and I18n and has good UX

vic,
@vic@seal.cafe avatar

@kirby @alex and it better use a package manager I've never heard of or at least yarn, if you use npm you're NGMI

@tk all soap is basically the same thing anyway, just dilute it to whatever consistency you need, whether washing dishes, clothes, the floor, yourself, etc.

@Dalraz @nekandro When will people learn that the masses are NOT ALLOWED to have non-backdoored hardware.

NOT ALLOWED!

It is against the rules. If you trust a big company to actually give you privacy, shame on your for being fooled more times than anyone can count at this point.

Was going to replace the too-short chain that came with my estrogen necklace with a longer chain but then I thought, why do something simple and elegant when instead I can do something complicated and obtrusive?

@miriamrobern you aren't fooling anyone

vic,

@mamemomonga I bet it is. I might get my own Otamatone and try to get good with it. I imagine it's a little bit like playing violin.

vic,
@vic@seal.cafe avatar

@kroner @mamemomonga I just ordered one. Can't wait for it to get here!

vic,
@vic@seal.cafe avatar

@kroner @mamemomonga I just started with the white one, but I might get the Kirby one later if I like the first one.

But then I won't ever be able to make fun of people who collect Funko Pops again.
