@alex Hi Mr. Gleason. I was wondering if Pleroma FE is able to be used with Ditto yet. All the other nostr interfaces look really bad except for soapbox and I want to keep using Pleroma fe with social media stuffs. :think_happy:

@kirby It's been months since I checked, but in theory you should be able to do this:

Nginx proxy Pleroma FE against a Ditto server

Enter your npub as the username and password to log in.

You are now logged in, in read-only mode.

If you enter your nsec as the password, you can post too. But it's insecure.

The problem with Pleroma FE is that it doesn't support OAuth login.

I'm currently working on making other Mastodon/Pleroma apps work with remote signers, so you can log into any of them securely. But they need to support OAuth login, like fe.soapbox.pub or Pinafore.

To make Pleroma FE work natively will require some hacks or workarounds. But it is possible.

@verita84eva @burner The problem is I don't really know why, and I don't know how to test it because it happens intermittently. If I take an specific post and look at it, it passes all the checks.

Telegram's email server rejected my ban appeal because they were receiving too many unban request emails in general and they rate-limited it?

alex,
@alex@gleasonator.com avatar

@redneonglow I posted a message in the Nostr Design public group and got banned automatically. No further explanation was provided.

alex,
@alex@gleasonator.com avatar

@redneonglow I believe the ban was a mistake. But I think it's a fundamental issue of centralized platforms. They simply can't handle it because it's too big.

@redneonglow Perhaps Elizabeth Warren doesn't need to break up the big tech monopolies because they'll crush themselves under their own weight.

Telegram had hopeful beginnings, but now it's gone down the same path.

Some people think Nostr cannot work with things like a "universal consistent like count" and other basic social media malignant tumors.

Even if we ignore the bad psychological and societal effects of such practices and assume they are good, and even if we assume that Nostr is all running in a single server that has all the events (a Bluesky-like unavoidable requirement for such universal consistency) these people are still completely oblivious to the fact that anyone can create a bazillion keypairs and spam like counts.

So when they ask for a "universal consistent like count" what these people are really asking for is for a centralized KYC barrier at the doors of Nostr that ensures only a single keypair can be created by each human.

@3bf0c63fcb93463407af97a5e5ee64@mostr.pub That's true, but then it's a trust issue with a person you follow rather than a network issue.
