I'm starting to have a penchant for vintage . My latest acquisitions include a Spanish Inoxcrom 77 from 1969 and a Lamy 26P from 1974, both NOS. Gotta say the Lamy, despite being an EF, is a more reliable writer than the Inoxcrom, but I'm very fond of the latter as it was the first Spanish mass-produced pen to be successful at home and abroad. The Inoxcrom is using Kaweco Midnight Blue, the Lamy a generic blue ink that I shall soon change for Parker Solv-X (I've procured bottles in blue-black, permanent blue and permanent black, all new and mostly full.)

New Quink with Solv-x for my personal stash. First bottle came from a co-worker who randomly handed it to me, these others I've bought. Brand new, from the defunct Spanish department store Galerías Preciados, 325 pesetas a piece.

Two bottles of Parker Quink with Solv-x, date of production 1992 to 1995, colours blue and black.

this seems to be the final color of my ink mix of 2:1 Pelikan Edelstein Star Ruby and Colorverse Butterfly Nebula.

Sparkly dark pink it is! It looks a bit like the shimmer version of Lamy Vibrant Pink but a little pinker rather than redder.

is Wing Sung 698 with Pilot B italic nib.

@paradoxmo A lovely colour! I love your handwriting, by the way. It looks like a calligraphic exercise to me. Did you use any model or technique to practise?

@paradoxmo thanks a lot for the info! I'm definitely trying it out this year. I want to get my handwriting a bit fancier for special purposes…

@paradoxmo actually, the need for broad edge was what made me a bit reluctant to try the style, but now I'm definitely going for it. I use a variant of a mixture of Spencerian and Palmer for daily handwriting but I'd love to learn italic for titles or special occasions. Thanks again!

Got me my first Kaweco yesterday! A gorgeous red Sport with a very smooth and pleasant <F> nib that wrote out of the box!

I eventually tested the almaço paper yesterday after a bit of reluctance to write on it and I am very happy with the result. No resistance whatsoever to a sometimes stubborn and dry pen, complete lack of bleed-through and in general a positive yet a bit expensive recommendation for users of . (Pen used, Platinum Plaisir <F>; ink Platinum Blue Black, cartridge).

I have bought a new, very special kind of paper in Portugal today — papel de almaço. It has a blue hue, it has 25 ruled lines per official specification, and for centuries it was used for official purposes with or without an embedded stamp (before disappearing in 1986). It is still sporadically used to present applications and other administrative forms. I'm hoping it works with so that I can get a nice friendly paper to use!

of the day:
Do you match your pens and inks—never, sometimes, or always? For matchy people, what are some of your top “made in heaven” matches?

voicilefer,
@voicilefer@todon.eu avatar

@penfount not always, but it's a match at the moment! I'm using a Pilot Non-Self Filling (with a cart, even if it defeats the purpose) and Pelikan Dunkelgrün which behaves well if the correct paper is used. I'm going for cheap Muji notebooks at the moment, which are FP-friendly.
