The update manager in Linux Mint updated libllvm15 and now Brave is completely unusable for me. Is it possible to fix this without using a system backup?

Brave is my primary web browser but every page I visit isn’t being rendered correctly at all and some pages are completely broken. I have a system backup from a few days ago but I’d prefer not to have to use it if I can. I think Brave is the only thing that was affected but I think I should try to revert the update if it’s...

I already have Firefox installed. I use both because some websites work better on Brave while some work better on Firefox.

I don’t really use it for the privacy stuff, I only used it because it performs better than Microsoft Edge (which yes, there is a Linux version of Edge).

What is a good way to benchmark test a GPU in Linux?

The computer I was using stopped working and I had to switch to a different computer but despite having a significantly better GPU, games are performing only slightly better. I want to benchmark test the GPU to see if it’s a potential hardware problem or if something else is causing a bottleneck.

I tried to download unigine but I can’t seem to figure out how to download it. I’m using Linux Mint and the only download option seems to be a .run file which doesn’t seem to be executable in Mint. I also don’t know how to look through the repositories and when I tried to install “unigine-heaven” in apt, it told me it couldn’t find it in the repositories. So unless it’s called something else when you install it through apt, I don’t know how to download it.

Also, I did look into Phoronix but it only mentions that it benchmarks CPUs and not GPUs.

Ok that worked, as it turns out, the problem was that I’ve never used a .run file before and, at least from what I can tell, .run files are similar to .sh files.

Anyways, I’ve never really done benchmark tests before but I did play around with it a little. The settings I used was low graphics, full screened to the custom resolution of 1360x768 (the resolution of the monitor I use) and everything else was disabled. The frame rate ranged from 12 to 26 (or at least somewhere around that), does that seem good for an AMD Radeon R2 Graphics?

Yeah, we've actually tried restarting the phone several times and it never fixed the issues. She's starting to think it's a problem with everyone else's phones.

Also, I edited the post in case your response would have been different.

I'm actually not sure. Her previous phone and my current phone both have the option for calling and texting through both WiFi and data but her new phone doesn't have the option for either, so I have no idea what it's using.

I turned both off and the texts still went through, which means that it's probably using data. Assuming it works the same way that my phone does.

Both of them are off.

I'm not actually sure if her phone has WiFi calling/texting. Her phone doesn't say anything about using WiFi for calling/texting and texts/calls still go through even if both WiFi and data are off.

Her phone service is through Tracphone.

I've never had to replace a phone/tablet charger, the ones that came with them are still fine, even though I've had one of them for over 10 years now. Now, when it comes to the cables for either usb game controllers or storage devices, they usually only last me a few years at max.

I'm not sure if it's related but I know a lot of Lemmy instances are getting overloaded because of the Reddit blackout. I know that the main instance was having federation problems because the servers kept crashing from the influx of users.

Never, the big name content creators will never boycott YouTube like Reddit mods for large subs did because YouTube pays them and no one takes alternatives seriously enough to even just mirror their content on an alternative. I've been trying to support YouTube alternatives as much as I can but I'm only one person, I'd be naive to think that I alone could make a difference.

If you're accessing Lemmy from a desktop web browser, next the notifications icon, is a search button. If you are using a mobile device or a desktop app (if there is one) it might be in a different place.
