It’s now clear that Leonard Leo, Ginni Thomas and Harlan Crow conspired in the wake of Citizens United, where Justice Clarence Thomas cast a decisive vote, to unleash over a billion dollars to reshape the judiciary in the mold of the Federalist Society.

The result is now an extreme right-wing Supreme Court that has overturned abortion rights, environmental law, and affirmative action. And they are far from done.

The SCOTUS has almost always been anti civil rights and right-wing aside from a frustratingly-brief, lovely breath of fresh air during the Warren and Marshall courts. Even that time rife with awful, bad decisions, but at least fewer of them. And that moment of light was book-ended by evil decisions like Korematsu and the court of the segregationist William Rehnquist.

Full-on court reform is the answer. We ALREADY have laws that clearly make many and likely most of these decisions illegal ignoring the ones that are just stupid. The justices entirely ignore the law and instead write opinions based on personal aesthetics, preferences, and political/religious beliefs.

To start with, we should reintroduce FDR's Judicial Procedures Reform Bill.
