The rot doesn't stop at the top. It's not just Macron, Darmanin and the rest of the French government. The entire French Establishment is at fault. Like their Vichyesque predecessors, they rely on institutionalised brutality among the National Police and paramilitary Gendarmerie. The Lukashenko regime has "goon squads". The French Establishment have theirs.
