@AlexSanterne @academicchatter But, oftentimes, one does merely “trust” someone else’s results — either because we can’t directly evaluate the evidence, or because we haven’t yet but it fits previous experiences/patterns… i.e. cases when aren’t completely disinformed but we aren’t top experts either.

“Agreement”, on the other hand, sounds to me as if it presumed equivalence between both our reasoning processes (the expert’s & mine), and that’s often not the case.
