This planned API from Google is something to look out for too.

Short Version: Have your device verified as "trustworthy" (as in "no adblockers") by an unspecified 3rd party to access web pages. DRM for your web browsing experience, enforced by god knows who. Unethical. Yuck.

Senate committee approves legislation to impose stronger ethics standards on Supreme Court justices (apnews.com)

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court would have to abide by stronger ethics standards under legislation approved on Thursday by the Senate Judiciary Committee, a response to recent revelations about donor-funded trips by justices. The bill faced united opposition from Republicans, who said it could “destroy” the court.

I have yet to see a case of stronger ethical standards as outlined destroy any court. I cannot understand how people who spout such nonsense can look at themselves in the mirror without a serious case of nausea.

Ending A already hit me hard, but in retrospect it made the other endings hit me even harder, when you finally understand what really happened.

How am I supposed to make sense of my life getting BETTER during the pandemic? Anyone else have that experience?

Basically for most of my adult life I've struggled to have a life that I truly wanted. Not comparing myself to anyone else, but going from job that let me go to job that let me go. Not making ends meet. I never felt "normal." I always felt like an anomaly....

I feel the same way! Although the beginning of the pandemic was rough.

I get swooped up in my emotions pretty easily, and so the first month or so i was in a serious state of panic. I stopped reading the news daily after that, which helped a lot in stabilizing. And then i realized that my social anxiety issues were getting the space i needed - quite literally. Social distancing made grocery shopping much more doable for me, people didn't want to meet up, and large crowds ... just weren't a thing. I miss that a lot.

you are from lemmy.antemeridiem.xyz, which means beehaw.org still federates with your home instance. this only affects users of sh.itjust-works/lemmy.world <-> beehaw.org. also, i suspect already synced threads wont disappear, but new content won't be synced anymore (this part is just a theory, if someone who knows this could weigh in i would appreciate)
