When O'Malley was a nobody, it was quaint for Conor to send positive messages his way - like ruffling your little bro's hair on the way out the door. Now that O'Malley is a named fighter who people outside the sport are starting to know, he's a threat for Conor.
I gotta be honest, I don't see this going Dustin's way. However if anyone has the ability to pull one out of nowhere, it'll be Dustin. Let's see if he fares better against Islam than he did against Khabib - he's had a lot of time to figure out how to deal with that style.
It's not Weidman's fault that he was given a win. He had to react to that information, just like everyone else. Now, does that excuse poking the shit out of the guy's eyeballs all fight? Does that make it right to parade around like you just KO'd the dude? No, it does not. He should have been penalized for the pokes and should have been more respectful, at least. But the people mad at him about winning should redirect that anger towards those who made the decision.
