That's the month it happened, so that's the month people post about it, meaning it's also the month it's removed and people cry foul.

You can induce a magnetic field in a nonferromagnetic metal by exposing it to an oscillating magnetic field... I would imagine an MRI would qualify.

Not applicable to this case I suspect, but relevant to your question.

Are there any good jobs out there where you can show up, do your work, and then just leave when it's done?

The arbitrary 8.5-9 hour workday drives me nuts, because a lot of the time, I really only have 3 or 4 hours worth of work to do. I generally work quickly and I value my time. Can I make a decent living doing something that gives me this kind of flexibility?

Was a window washer for years. If you work for yourself the pay can be good... really good, like 6 figures part time good.
If you get routine work from local businesses you can just show up when it's convenient, do your thing, get paid, and decide if you want to hit another one of your jobs or call it for the day.

Great, honest work.

Shouldn't all the instances show the same community content?

I'm learning about the Fediverse and am confused about how federation is supposed to work. I understand that there can be communities with the same name in different instances, with different content. But I also understand you can subscribe to another instance's community. For example, there are sysadmin commnunities at...

I agree. Unfortunately this is a do or die problem I think. Either they find a way to bring these communities together or the fediverse remains fractured and will never pick up steam. I'm over reddit, but I long term there's no way I'm checking 5 identically named communities from 5 different points of view to try to put comment chains together...

18 years feels like an outdated number. I know very few people around that age who are financially secure enough to move out, often even with roommates.

There's still a big difference between making money to survive, and the insane cash grab that was this new API pricing...

GizmoLion,

No argument with what you said, I'm just saying there's a big difference between paying for a server, and paying your shareholders.

GizmoLion,

Well yes, if they use something in a way specifically contraindicated by the nature of the technology then that's problematic.
Do you have evidence that this was the case, or are you moving the goal posts to the "no shit sherlock" zone for an easy win?

400 atmospheres, or about 6000 PSI

GizmoLion,

Source that they did? I've seen nothing to support that to date.

or are you going to reddit your way out of this conversation?
Wtf? Was that an attempt at condescension?

GizmoLion,

The guy above is correct, altitude has no effect on the BT transmission. You can assume they used the tech in a way it can't (or nearly can't) be used if you want, I guess. I'm not going to go and prove that they didn't because that was your assertion, not mine. The vessel had many successful dives before this happened, so logic would dictate that the wireless implementation was working.

GizmoLion,
GizmoLion avatar

The designer is dead so the wireless didn't work?

Does that count as a coherent argument to you? I wouldn't make fun of redditors if you can't make a better argument than that...

Spin up 50 bots.
Sign them all up for lemmy.
Let accounts interact/age.
Sell accounts to companies who want to advertise as one of the cool kids.

Happened on reddit nonstop.

Just the same, having a post history and upvote history lends credibility to the "opinion" of the brand.

GizmoLion,
GizmoLion avatar

Pretty much why Reddit removed downvotes I think... brands got tired of users raining downvotes on them for shilling lol.

GizmoLion,
GizmoLion avatar

I feel like you're reading a completely different conversation...

GizmoLion,
GizmoLion avatar

Looks like you are @ing someone I can't see.

Well, that's the first major point against this fediverse business... Who's going to stick around to have a conversation when everyone's only getting bits of it? That's kinda antithetical to discussion...

I don't have a statistic to provide, but I would be willing to bet 80%+ of American households have some deferred medical issue. Whether it's getting something checked out, teeth cleaned, affording prescribed meds etc.

As it is now people die rather than see a doctor because they don't want to empty the family coffers over what might be nothing.

GizmoLion,

Your mind works in disgusting ways...

... I like it lol

This feels like a forced reddit detox.

I, much like basically everyone here, have been avoiding Reddit when possible, and the content here just doesn't hit the same. My fried dopamine receptors were certainly screaming for stimulation early on but now I feel an urge to touch grass and breathe fresh air. What is this? Am I dying? I still hate the angry lightbulb in...

I found my productivity went up as my doomscrolling went down, win-win!
