Smart move of them to redirect away from closed subs to ones still open.
Sounds more like they are just redirecting to the homepage rather than alternative subreddits. Which I guess works in some ways, but if you are trying to target a specific subreddit with an ad, having it go to a general purpose page seems much less useful and valuable.
#1 I can get on board with, but #2 and #3 seem a bit, for lack of a better word, "naive".
Who wants to be an unpaid volunteer to work potentially hours a day and be beholden to the whims of a community, the exact same people they have to worry about moderating? If you censor or ban someone, now you have to worry about them instigating a revolt to get you demodded as well? How many people are willing to both actual do hard work as a moderator, and also deal with that sort of nonsense?
So, you can't do ads, but good luck asking people to pay up. If there is anything Redditors (and ex-Redditors) hate more than anything, it's asking them to pay money for anything. If you can figure out this problem then you'll have solved a problem that has plagued online communities for decades.
I don't think you can actually create the username with a difference case though, correct? The check for uniqueness in magazines and usernames appeared to me to validate that, but the routing rules for them don't appear to try to resolve the differences.
I've really enjoyed the game so far. Though the last Act is interesting in that it had some of my favorite parts of the campaign but also some of the dumbest. Not sure how I feel about the ending either.
But overall I'm pretty impressed. D4 feels more like a sequel to D2 than D3 ever was and the level of polish is great.
The build variety once you start hitting the higher world-tiers had me a bit concerned. With Barbarian it feels like you basically have to go with three shout skills, only leaving room for a couple actual options for skills outside of that. Send the legendary aspects don't seem particularly balanced. But those are all things that they can work on over time, and as the title states, it's only been a week.
It's hard to get excited about Microsoft's game offerings these days as it feels like it's been a while since they've had a big win on the game side of things. If a had to predict anything it would be that MS doesn't come out with anything to surprising, they keep it simple and focus on building hype for Starfield.
Which, btw, I hope turns out great both because Xbox needs a win and no game since Skyrim has scratched that same gaming itch for me, so I'm really counting on Bethesda coming through.
Honestly, even as a fan of Pokemon for decades of this point, I don't see a problem with the game being targeted at children. I have children now and I am all for games that target her age group instead of exclusively mine. Even if it's a flagship series like Pokemon.
I assume that's because their goal is to outline why third-party apps won't be needed. The whole point of this drama is that Reddit wants to get rid of the third-party apps, so they are going to do everything to try to convince people why not having them will be fine.
Just cosmetic. D4 has a transmog system where you can apply any appearance you've unlocked to your equipment. The store cosmetics just add those appearances to the list.
I can say that the armor available in Diablo IV is pretty solid. You can make your character look pretty badass without cosmetics. But it's still ridiculous both that they exist at all and the cost is ridiculous.

So I doubt the app experience is going to improve much anytime soon unless other people decide they want to take up the mantle (or create alternative apps entirely).
