I, much like basically everyone here, have been avoiding Reddit when possible, and the content here just doesn't hit the same. My fried dopamine receptors were certainly screaming for stimulation early on but now I feel an urge to touch grass and breathe fresh air. What is this? Am I dying? I still hate the angry lightbulb in...
It might get more addictive but there's still not the same incentive to design for more engagement like on mainstream social media.
About NSFW content randomly popping up, I actually haven't seen any of it yet.
But still I wouldn't scroll any of the fediverse (or Twitter if I was still there) around people. Never know for sure what will pop up.
That was a good read!
I agree about them being "cartoonish but well written villains.
The dynamic between the ascians and... well, everyone else is interesting. The Emet-Selch quote and their "academic" nature paints the picture of them viewing us as not much more than a thought experiment.
I guess one thing that shows their humanity though is their desperate clinging to the past. And then even more with Emet-Selch and his loneliness.
Ascians fighting for the past, sundered souls fighting for the future.
Anyway I'm hoping our future adventures will be less ascian centered, at least for a few expansions.
I am an avid retro gaming fan. I mostly play JRPG games like Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger but recently I've had very little time to enjoy big, complicated games. I am looking for recommendations for retro games that can be played over a longer peroid of time, but don't require a big time investment (re-) learning the systems...
I'm pretty excited for this game. I don't have a PS5 yet, maybe this Christmas. But if you do, what better way to spend time in the world of Final Fantasy when it feels like the rest of the internet in down.
I was surprised they didn't have a way to adjust the motion blur, thought that was pretty much standard for games by now. It didn't cause me any issues but I would've preferred to turn it down a little bit.
Really liked the demo. I haven't watched any gameplay or interviews but it will be interesting to see if the game strikes a good balance between open and linear.
Downside is - I now feel like I don't have anything to play until launch...
I could list a bunch of general YTers that cover retro games among other gaming topics, but for those who mainly cover retro games I like Big Ole Words, Hungry Goriya, and Video Works.
Dunno how many other DRG lovers there are here, but their latest season is now live! I'm looking forward to playing it over the weekend and probably fail completely at Jetty Boots.
When hanging out with friends in discord or whatever, what games do you all tend to sit down and play with one another? For me it's some combination of Valorant, Guild Wars 2, and Omega Strikers but I'm curious what everyone else plays with their friends :)
I think for me personally avoiding it all together won't be too difficult... As long as "Overseas Casuals" keeps posting workshop recommendations on their discord. :)
This feels like a forced reddit detox.
