Jacoolh,

Shame it’s exclusive to PS5 though.

Jee,

Really liked the demo. I haven't watched any gameplay or interviews but it will be interesting to see if the game strikes a good balance between open and linear.
Downside is - I now feel like I don't have anything to play until launch...

Apaulling,

Honestly as impressed by the look of the demo as any I've ever seen. Really looking forward to watching some streamers play through the full game (cause I ain't buying a PS5 for it).

The demo went a long way to assuaging some of my concerns about the combat. The only major issue I experienced was that any time I had combat in an enclosed room, I lost my frame of reference for where I entered the room since all of the objects inside were destroyed and combat tended to whip me around in every which direction. Without fail, I always accidentally chose the wrong door out and ended up backtracking before realizing my mistake.

I hope that we see greater variety in the interior environments besides dark and grim stone corridors that are impossible to distinguish, which should help keep this issue from cropping up nonstop like it did in the post-demo section for me.

Yeah, I had to rely on Animal Instinct (L3) more than I'd have liked to find my way around the demo. I prefer it over a mini-map, but I prefer a clear level design over both.

_zio_pane,

Loved the demo, but I wish there was more areas to wander around and battles to fight. It felt like forever just getting to actually play the game. They throw a bunch of combos at you and I have a hard time remembering them all in the middle of battle. I really hope it doesn't detract from enjoying the battles. The music is beautiful and the demo song they released on YouTube is fantastic! Also, my wife and I can't get enough of puppy Torgal, love him so much!

satty,

Just finished the demo, really enjoyed the story opening and feel of the gameplay. There were some rough frame drops during the big battles but fingers crossed a day 1 patch improves that.

Too bad I am away from my PS5 for the next week or so. I’d even settle with remote play to check out the demo if it was viable (it isn’t).

The action style gameplay is right up my alley and I’ve enjoyed just about all the FF stories. Can’t wait to get my hands on this evolution of the series.

I really enjoyed it. The gameplay is fun, but also the cutscenes are really well done. And not just the “ohhh it’s square and these are pretty.” The characters and the acting are really good, and it’s very cinematic.

I think this one's worth waiting to play properly on a TV. Looks amazing and there's some truly epic scenes. That said, I hope they can iron out the fps in the day 1 patch. Cus it gets a little choppy even in frame rate mode.

Jezior,

After watching the demo on YT, I'm kinda sad that we will be waiting a loooong time for PC version. It was better than expected.

I've not heard anything about a pc version, has there been any news beyond the fact that they did it previously?

Chewy12,

It is true that FINAL FANTASY XVI is a six-month limited time exclusive on the PS5 platform. However, it is a completely different story that the PC version will be released in half a year. I will make it clear, but the PC version will not come out in half a year

-Naoki Yoshida (machine translated)

Basically it is a timed exclusive but we won’t even hear news about releases date until that window is up.

bing_crosby,

Aw man that's a bummer.

Arguti,

Thank god there's a demo. I was excited but the motion blurr and the camera following the character movement is way too sickening for me. I hope they fix it.

I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah hope they get feedback to fix that. It's FF first time into such fast action/DMC like combat, they really should try hard to not alienate any fans.

_zio_pane,

I thought it was odd that the motion blur was making me ever so slightly dizzy/headache-y. Something I could probably deal with if I only played in smaller sessions and not hours at a time, but still a little unfortunate.

Pantsofmagic,

Did you play in graphics mode or frame rate mode? I didn't notice an issue like that in frame rate mode though the center button lore menu made me a bit nauseous with the blurry icons moving in the background

Arguti,

It's a little better in frame rate mode but honestly the biggest problem for me is the motion blurr+camera. I really hope they add the option to turn motion blurr off and fixed camera on in the future.

Jee,

I was surprised they didn't have a way to adjust the motion blur, thought that was pretty much standard for games by now. It didn't cause me any issues but I would've preferred to turn it down a little bit.
