We were at the point where I would click a major news article and I had to scroll a few dozen comments before there was something even remotely relevant to whatever was happening.
I never use the term "shithole country". First because, I don't know, it's often used to address poor African countries, and those in particular are fucked because of direct consequences of Western policies and colonialism.
Second, because it was used by fucking Trump and I'd rather not.
But Russia really is a shithole country, Jesus. A grim, evil, arrogant, fucked up, good for nothing shithole country.
Also, this seems like a much, MUCH better PR move than throwing paint at masterpieces in fucking museums.
I don't know who thought that was something that would have moved the public opinion towards their cause.
Where I live (and other countries I've lived) it's commonly stated in any contract that landlords can not show up without a 48 hours notice.
As it should be: the moment I'm paying rent that's MY house.
Also, I'm 99% sure that if you enter the house unannounced while people are at work (landlord or not) that's breaking and entering, so all in all I think yours is really bad advice and you should never do that.
Paying tenants have the right to consider the house as their property as specified in the contract, and have the right to act towards home invaders as they see fit.
In particular, if I got home and found you in poking around my shit I'd let my dogs have a go at you.
The only common sense bit is that yes, you shouldn't rent to unemployed, that crazy.
Also in my country people usually have to provide proof of income when renting, so I don't know who would do that.
Edit: fuck, that's unacceptable. Surprise visit? I might be doning anything: showering, work, sex, having dinner, or people over. I would definitely slam the door in your face.
In theory I'd agree with you. I don't mind reading of nuances or different opinions than mine.
In general however, conservative media are worthless piece of shit embarrassments that I don't want to waste time on.
There's a difference between discussing with sometime with a different opinion, and stopping in the middle of the road responding to every deranged, mentally challenged ignorant mean crack addict who yells their vision of the world from the top of a soap box.
Yeh the guy fishing is the one who "doesn't vote because they're all crooks", and then complains about the government and the people who have been elected.
I don't know what "being registered to vote" means exactly in the US, but intuitively it sounds like an unnecessary level of complication and an undemocratic practice.
Not that my country (Italy) can be taken as an example, but even being it the paradigm of red tape and overcomplicating things, people automatically get a voting card wherever they're living and they vote.
The Justice Department is seeking 33 years in prison for Enrique Tarrio, the former Proud Boys leader convicted of seditious conspiracy in one of the most serious cases to emerge from the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to court documents filed Thursday.
Your well thought and well written post will likely land on deaf ears.
In my experience, evidence, logical arguments and simple common sense are completely ineffective with the kind of people who think "drugs bad and that's it" and are convinced that more War on Drugs is the solution. Despite the fact that all the evidence around us shows that it's not.
Not to be a dick but if they don't like it they could do something about it themselves. Hoping that "the world will do something" rarely has good results.
