Not my name. And I don't bother posting on things that are silly.

Or would you prefer me to say "this is silly" on every other post you make?

PizzaMan,

not allowed to recognize things like this happening.

That's not why posts like this get downvoted. It's instead because these posts are complaints about things that republicans are most responsible for. It's silly.

That, and people generally don't agree with conservative politics.

PizzaMan,

DeSantis fails again to denounce the open fascists in his state.

Well of course. A fascist will never call out another fascist. At least not until it suits them.

PizzaMan, (edited )

Do you have a source to support that claim? Because that sounds like bullshit.

PizzaMan,

Cool, nobody likes Biden anyways

PizzaMan,

Apparently Lemmy likes him.

I don't know how you could get that impression given the existence of lemmy.ml, lemmygrad, and hexbear.

I thought lemmy thought he was a right wing fascist and senile.

He is definitely right wing and senile, but I wouldn't quite put him in the fascism camp. Imperialist on the other hand, sure.

PizzaMan, (edited )

A single downvote? That is what tells you that Biden is well liked?

Why would that be your litmus test for popularity when you can easily google his current popularity (which is at 40% approve 55% disapprove)?

PizzaMan,

On kbin it is displaying 1 upvote, 1 downvote. It seems lemmy has a tendency to miss some comments/votes. I appologize for not considering that first.

Still, the votes on this post are a poor test of Biden's approval/disapproval. Instead you should look at the actual polling. I think if you were to actually ask the 8 downvoters, they have done so because this post is just silly. Because again, nobody likes Biden to begin with.

PizzaMan,

Yeah, because no republican would ever use government power to invade people's privacy.

PizzaMan,

You should have seen my comment chain with /u/10A.

I'm certainly not arguing in bad faith, or here to start fights.

I haven't been banned because I haven't been doing anything wrong.

PizzaMan, (edited )

What counts as an "honest user" then? Because I don't see how such a term could be anything other than subjective/arbitrary/unknowable. You're never going to know somebody's intentions based off of internet comments.

I'm being civil, not spamming, etc. I'm following the rules.

PizzaMan,

I'm not ignorant of the reason, it's because some people can't handle dissenting opinions. That's fine if that's the case, but if so, politics usually isn't a good space for such people to be in.

Do you have an answer for my question? What counts as an "honest user"?

PizzaMan,

That doesn't answer my question, nor is it civil.

PizzaMan,

Do, don't, I don't care either way. I'm content with having empathy, with not calling people "shitbag" over something minor.

PizzaMan,

I hate the democrats too. I'm not pushing their bullshit. The only reason why I vote for them is because the alternative is x10 worse.

PizzaMan,

I spend nowhere near 24/7 commenting here. And I only defend democrats when they do something right. The rest of the time I criticize them too.

The democratic party is a corporate owned one, that intentionally doesn't make any progress, which is why I hate them.

PizzaMan, (edited )

The whole point of this thread is about which side is worse in terms of government trust. Whataboutisms don't automatically apply here, especially because you didn't actually support your claim with any examples, so I picked one.

PizzaMan,

the left overwhelmingly wants the government to take more of my money

This is a sweeping generalization. The way to move forward on budget is to stop wasting so much money on corporate bailouts, the military, and to actually fix our shit show of a tax system so that the rich pay their fair share. If we did so, we would have more than enough money to fund the social programs the left wants while decreasing taxes/heathcare costs.

take more control over private enterprise.

Corporations have proven themselves unable to self regulate. They poison our land, water, and sky. They pay poverty wages. They pay executives hundreds of times as much as average workers. They hoard their stolen wealth in tax free, offshore accounts. They price gouge and monopolize. They lay off workers without a second thought. They intentionally make commodities and basic necessities scarce to drive up prices. And they do this all while bribing politicians to keep things this way.

So damn right they need to be controlled better. They can't be trusted to be ethical or sustainable, so they must be regulated.

PizzaMan,

That's fine. I'll keep posting anyway.

PizzaMan,

and work to remove someone from the social program.

What happens to people who are chronically ill, unable to work or heal to a point where they can get off of social programs?

What about the old/retired?

PizzaMan,

Old/retired is social security/401k/pension.

Not everybody has payed enough into social security to get any use out of it, and not everybody has a 401k/pension. And that especially goes for pensions.

Chronically ill is social security.

Unless I'm missing something, people who are chronically ill are typically on medicaid, not social security. But my question was really about the "heal to a point where they can get off social programs part".

There are many people who will never, for the rest of their life, or for a very long part of their life have no ability to heal or become able bodied. Are you suggesting they get booted off these programs anyways?

PizzaMan,

They changed tune after they say people didn’t want that and crime was increasing. Yet still some are pushing it such as

Doesn't matter because most democrats never supported it as you understand it.

It shows a trillion dollar deficit increase. Thats spending without a plan.

Which is tame in comparison to how much it grows under republicans. Under democrats the deficit usually goes down, under republicans it usually explodes. That's because democrats are generally better at economics. Republicans just give tax breaks to the rich and borrow the remainder.

When trans rights infringe on the rights of women.

They don't though.

Jk Rowling has written some wonderful articles on the topic

I'm going to continue to avoid her bigoted ass like the plague.

PizzaMan,

An unproven model that is risky. If they really wanted to show it works, raise taxes and fund both.

It isn't unproven, and the second wouldn't make conservatives happy anyways so I'm not sure why you're suggesting it.

And again, the majority of democrats never supported this.

No democrats are not better with economics

https://www.self.inc/info/us-debt-by-president/

They are.

Women should have the right to compete against other females in sports and shouldn’t be subjected to undressing in front of trans women.

Trans rights doesn't exclude this first bit, and dressing rooms should be private. This isn't hard.

She’s entitled to her opinion as a feminist.

She is a self described TERF, aka a bigot.

PizzaMan,

He’s the leader of the democrats right now.

And he doesn't represent all democrats

I’ll give you the same challenge

I've already explained why this comparison is silly.
