Annoyance about the fediverse that fedi proponents don’y seem to understand:
The federated model adds almost no value to me as a user. It only begins to add value when the decentralized model becomes integrated into the user experience.
From where I sit, there is absolutely no difference between me making an account for mastodon and another account for pixelfed than me making accounts for twitter and insta. None.
@emilygorcenski the fediverse has the same "problem" as open source -- it's just not relevant to most people, and it's never going to be enough to attract a large audience to federated social media
