what ways do you use to make money from your websites? i'm thinking of creating one and monetizing it

I know this may not answer your question, but I would suggest to flip your thinking pattern.

By creating a solution that’s looking for a problem, you’re likely to not add much value to a prospective customer.

Instead, look at some of the problems and friction points in your own life, and see if you can create a solution to those problems.

Worst case scenario: you make your life easier, even if you don’t make any money. Best case scenario: Other people have this problem too, and might pay you to solve it for them.

have you ever done anything with Luan? what was your experience like?

TheOneCurly,

And as far as I an tell, unlicensed. There at least isn’t one in the mercurial repo or on the site anywhere I can find. I would definitely not recommend using unlicensed code in anything other than a personal use only project.

Would you like to join our community?

I'm a programmer and for a long time I've been encountering problems with the platforms I often use to write my articles on programming and technology. So I decided to get my hands dirty and built a website that has received a considerable number of visits in just 4 months. That's why I'm here to invite more people who would...

EDIT: Personal stuff aside, you might have better luck in a programming community, particularly in a programming-centric instance (though IME federation w/Kbin may be an issue), and probably even better with an example of an article.

Then again, it might be an uphill battle when it comes to actually convincing people to use your place over others.

I don't like most programming languages, and I want probably too much. Problem with me or the timeline or something.

I do like one language and it's a bit niche.
Even still I don't really use it. The last code I did (months ago, in September), load format example.

Also recently made a few 3D models with only vertex colors (no textures) such as plant and that didn't work exactly as hoped with Raylib (bindings-specific? maybe not?) either. Guess old tech isn't as supported as I thought it would be.

That's all I have to post now.

Nothing. They just tell you how active you are on here.

I hope it's popcorn. With an M&M lottery too. I'd say that shows how old I am, but I don't know if that was a common thing.

Also, welcome to the internet where everything is made up and the points don't matter.

spujb,

OP, look into digital content marketing, because that’s what you’re doing. it’s an entire industry that unfortunately requires money or a lot of individual talent to get a good handle on.

start by reaching out to similar websites or key people you want using your website and build a network. understand your target and niche. leverage social media. put in the work early to optimize SEO so your site appears for people who search for it and related terms because that’s your biggest enemy. buy advertising spots if your research finds it’s useful.
