I've spoken to Miyoo about this device. They say that it will be released in November and will be available both from AliExpress and third-party retailers (IOW, you'll find it on Amazon). I asked for specifications but none were forthcoming.

Miyoo have a long history of being optimistic with release dates so take "November" with a pinch of salt.

It's amazing to be able to carry around a huge catalogue of retro games in such a convenient form-factor.

What are you playing while on your trip?

I hear a lot said about the Dragon Ball games, but I've never actually played one myself. Would someone unfamiliar with the mangas get a lot out of them?

I'm always curious about how people use their retro-gaming devices. Do you stick with games from your past, or have you found some previously unknown gems? For instance, I love the fact that I can replay the Metroid games, up to Fusion on the GBA, but I've also discovered that I thoroughly enjoy 1942 (Arcade) and its sequels.

Well, I think you would be fine going blind as...

Sounds as if it may be worth giving a try sometime.

I do both, usually I re play old classics when I don’t want to think too much or I only have too little time to play to not being able to process stuff 😅

Have you also had been able to play some games that you always wanted to as a child, but couldn't, for whatever reason?

[OBSOLETE] If you want to use the StorageAccess version of Citra MMJ (antutu) with Daijisho, you'll have to edit the "player" configuration

UPDATE: after discussion with the Daijishou team, they have updated the list of Players to include 3ds - org.citra.emu - storage access antutu. This Player works out of the box with Citra MMJ StorageAccess_Antutu and renders the following process unnecessary. Just update the 3DS Platform and the new Player will be available....

If you're running Linux and want to install GammaOS on an Anbernic RG405M/RG505, use this method to unlock the bootloader

The bootloader unlock method given in the instructions from the GammaOS repo don't work on Linux, as confirmed by an issue report. In that same issue report there is a link to a forum thread that contains a procedure that does work - https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32287.html...

It's interesting to hear that the GammaOS developer has got his hands on one.

One thing that struck me about this was the PICO-8 game-play. Seems like the perfect screen for it.

helligbird, to Anbernic

I never had time or headspace to tinker with my but it came with some preloaded games. I played a few, just to get the feel of it. I didn't own many consoles when I was young, so many old games are new to me. I found Fire Emblem 4 there and started playing it. It works fine, better than my Awakening clunky Samsung S22 edition lol. Ah, and rumors say will be remastered. I'll definitely get that. I'm sure they will do something with Awakening too.

(and possibly ) support the emulator for playing . PPSSPP is probably the emulator you have installed on the Android side.

In ArkOS, you would want to set the emulator to the "standalone" version of PPSSPP for better performance - press START, then "EMULATOR SETTINGS -> Sony PlayStation Portable -> EMULATOR -> STANDALONE".

This chipset does a decent job of PSP emulation. We started a repository of optimized settings for PPSSPP on the and series devices - https://k-tec.uk/2022/09/26/k-tec-starts-repository-of-optimized-ppsspp-settings-for-rk3566-devices-anbernic-rg503-rg353p/

Koriki or Batocera but, yes, it won't run on GarlicOS until there's a release with GPU support.
