Majority of the people here are super helpful, much friendlier, and supportive even with all the flaws that we are experiencing. Building a community takes effort. Everyone’s effort is focused here so that we can have the place that we want it to be - a place better than reddit.
A lot of us came from reddit. I think a lot also expect it to be reddit-like based on the threads and comments posted here. Making the magazines is sort of welcoming people and making the bed for new comers, hoping this place will feel like home. Those who made tons of magazines might have been subscribers, readers, lurkers, and want their interests to be here too.
I most likely see them as pro-suffering looking closely at the topics they target women, LGBTQ, veterans, minorities, children, poor people. Is this some kind of fetish

A microblog is more of a tweet rather than a group chat. A person is posting an announcement/microblog within the magazine and anyone can see and comment on it. In a group chat, it is for invited people only.
Yes to subreddits equivalent to communities and magazines. But magazines have microblogs unlike communities.
