@jack Boris isn't like the most far right in the party though, so that doesn't really make sense of me. I think it makes sense for the party to distance themselves from him however, as he has showed really bad ethicacy duing his period. His political career is basically over as I see it, unless he manages ro reinvent himself in some way. A big low for the UK, that's for sure.

@oliver There is a difference between tankie and communist. I'm anti-tankie, critical to, but tolerate communism, and democratic socialism. Personally I probably fall closest to social democracy in within the nordic model in terms of eco-pol. So I'm considered fairly left wing in a international setting.

@piezoelectron I think the larger issue is dogpiling and influence. Lemmy can always be forked, but collaborating with the original developers can get difficult. The fact that they are such a engaged part of the community and closely associate with lemmygrad.ml is quite worrying for the lemmy community. During the past 24 hours I've seen a lot of massdownvoting of stuff on Lemmy that shouldn't really be massdownvoted, and seems to have a different number here on Kbin as the two don't fully work together with the voting system. Something the devs should really have been doing something about years ago.

We are also talking about people getting all their posts downvoted no matter what and where.

As things are I think it's little reason for people not to just make the jump to https://kbin.pub/en to avoid any issues in the future. Kbin even is better built into the rest of the fediverse. Although you can choose to stay if you are particurarly attached to lemmy, the main differantiator between it and Kbin being, it being marxist lenninist.

Linus Torvalds -- Creator of Linux -- defends gun regulation, woke communists, womens rights AND trans rights. Linux is political! (cdn.masto.host)

@morgthorak I think you might want to make sure you don’t follow me.

Because your “woke communist propaganda” comment makes me think you’re a moron of the first order.

I strongly suspect I am one of those “woke communists” you worry about. But you probably couldn’t actually explain what either of those words actually mean, could you?

I’m a card-carrying atheist, I think a woman’s right to choose is very important, I think that “well regulated militia” means that guns should be carefully licensed and not just randomly given to any moron with a pulse, and I couldn’t care less if you decided to dress up in the “wrong” clothes or decided you’d rather live your life without feeling tied to whatever plumbing you were born with.

And dammit, if that all makes me “woke”, then I think anybody who uses that word as a pejorative is a f*cking disgrace to the human race. So please just unfollow me right now.

@juergen I don't think he implied that he actually is a communist though lol
