slither.io 🐍 Become the longest snek in the multiplayer pit by tripping up other players and feasting on the dead – until the inevitable moment when the same happens to you. Nothing like thinking you’re the very biggest, only to discover you’ve slowly been completely encircled by a much, much bigger snake and no amount of coiling is going to change the outcome.
Mine is Silent Hill 3. Its subject matter revolves around the fears of a teenage girl, like death of a parent, puberty, unwanted pregnancy (with a demon fetus, no less), mirrors (THAT ROOM shivers), and stalkers. The atmosphere is so oppressive and I cant play the game without having something else playing in the background, its...
Such a beautiful game but I couldn’t stand being on edge the whole time. I’m stressed enough as it is.
Playing on the Nintendo Switch was an interesting experience, with a rendering distance so short that by the time anything dangerous pops into view it’s already too late.
So, this is coming from a reddit user. I don't really understand the microblog button and how/what kind of content it gives you and how it's organized. Can some one give a brief summation.
This is excellent. Thank you! I genuinely didn’t get it until reading your reply. In fact, I was thinking of posting a meme along the lines of ‘I don’t understand how the microblog feature works and at this point I’m too afraid to ask’. No need anymore.
Now all I DO need is a way to save/bookmark posts for future reference.
This is the way that Reddit and Hacker News function. When browsing the feed on those sites I middle click the post and the comments link to open both up in new tabs but on kbin both links open the same page.
Just my two cents: I prefer the way it is. The Hacker News way always trips me up, especially when switching from Apollo – where post titles link to the post. I realize how bad this is going to sound, but the OP and the comments are what I’m here for. I judge whether the linked content is worth visiting based on the comments, so that’s where I prefer to start.
Huge fan of the Kingdom series. Still deciding whether to get this (for the Switch). How would you rank it against previous installments? Is it a ‘haha they put Stranger Things in my Two Crowns’ kind of novelty (which no doubt wears off soon), or does it feel like something that’s as explorable through replay as previously?
Recently discovered Urbek City Builder. It’s similar to Islanders and Dorfromantik except there’s an auto-upgrade mechanic where building tiles respond to changes in neighboring tiles. It creates a wonderful feeling of emergent behavior where putting down a single new tile creates beautiful ripple effects. The experience on the Nintendo Switch is decent but I’ll probably be buying it again for PC shortly
I’m looking for suggestions for electronic albums in any sub-genre that you think exemplify dedication to craft and careful consideration of detail in any aspect: production, sound design, composition, etc....
Nicolas Jaar’s Space Is Only Noise and Olafur Arnalds’ For Now I Am Winter (slightly more neo-classical/acoustic) are two I regularly revisit precisely for how cohesively the tracks fit together. Oh, and anything by Floating Points.
Mind, none of these use 100% electronic/synthesized sounds, so I don’t know if they count.
Meta announced a new AI model called Voicebox yesterday, one it says is the most versatile yet for speech generation, but it’s not releasing it yet: The model is still only a research project, but Meta says can generate speech in six languages from samples as short as two seconds and could be used for “natural, authentic”...
When I visit kbin.social, I see new posts regularly. On other servers posts stay on the frontpage for multiple days. This is also true if I switch their sorting to "hot". So that is probably not the difference....
Had the same thought today. I’ve noticed myself opening kbin.social more often than lemmy lately precisely because it feels like there is always something new to see here, whereas in the same time span the front pages of the lemmy instances I use have stayed largely the same
I was just prompted that a PWA was available for kbin. I now have it installed, really great to see this. IMO it is a great stopgap until native apps are available.

Is is possible to make clicking on thread titles take you the link instead of the post?
