I’ll do two:

Little Big League sure there’s Japanese Breakfast and I do love Michelle’s works but this band just really struck a chord with me.

The Rest a band from Canada that had broken up before I discovered them but damn they were good.

What? Bark You’re Head of Dog was their best album yet.

The La's - There She Goes [1988] (yewtu.be)

Released in 1988, it was re-released in 1990 alongside its inclusion on The La’s self-titled and only album. I once had a house mate who loved this album and I would probably agree with his opinion that it is an almost perfect LP. Sixpence None the Richer covered this song in 1999, but the original is far superior!...

The La’s album is one of the greatest albums of all time.

Sure they hired a shitty seo agency but, reading the article they knew what the problem was but instead of fixing it themselves they threw money at that shitty agency and implemented everything they said without questioning it, essentially handing over business decisions to an external party.

Not so much a song as an entire album. The Courtneys II by The Courtneys.

The 35 Best Sci-Fi Movies Of All Time, Ranked - Read the article, then argue (www.cinemablend.com)

Science fiction is quite simply one of the most popular genres of film that we have. The creation of faraway places and futuristic technology seems to be exactly what the medium of film was designed to create. Sci-fi on film has been around for as long as there have been movies. But which ones are the best? Figuring that out is...

This is just ragebait.

Gattaca? Interstellar? District 9? Moon? A Clockwork Orange? Zardoz? Plan 9 from Outer Space?

Comparing the crowds to other football codes misses the point completely. This is a football World Cup. This is as big as the Olympics the local media would have understood that if they weren’t so financially dependent on the other codes.

The Matildas group game and all of the knockout stage games in Melbourne should have been played at Docklands or the MCG but the AFL said no and none of the media dared cross them. Which also means all of the crowd records we’ve set this tournament will be blown away when the next one is held in a football nation.

The real test of the legacy of this World Cup will be how many new fans start turning up to and watching the A-League Women and how many people that subscribed to Optus for the tournament keep their subscription to watch the WSL. I really hope that Football Australia an the APL are already developing a “made in the A-League’s” marketing campaign with the players.

That performance was so much better than either of the two previous games. I’m getting some belief back.

I worked for ITP for a tax season way back in the day. Did a 12 week course that CES subsidised and voila I was a professional. The base cost was like $79 (30 odd years ago) and it was the equivalent of filling in your name and address details in the current system and pressing submit. Every other box that we filled in was an extra $5, unless you had business income. Anyway, some people came in because it was cheaper than an accountant and they couldn’t be arsed doing it themselves the rest were just people with no clue. The number of arguments I had with people telling them that “I could claim your uniform laundry expenses but it won’t change your refund, because you are already getting all of you tax back and I will just have to charge you more money now” was mind boggling.

Filling out the basics of a tax return should be taught in school, it’s not hard.

This fucking clown. I am furious. A home World Cup with arguably the best squad we’ve ever had and he’s going to completely fuck it up. He should have been sacked after the Asian Cup debacle.

This is one of those kits you buy after the season ends from a bargain bin and bring out 25 years later for street cred because now it’s fashionable in a kitschy kind of way.

Your argument is driven by racism. The same old tired racist arguments that have been floating around since time immemorial.

“People are just claiming they are Aboriginal to get government handouts”

“They’re not really asylum seekers they are economic migrants looking for government handouts”

“They are going to create a new level of government so they can claim government handouts”

They are not getting inequitable representation. They are effectively being given a constitutionally recognised lobby group. The Government of the day will be able to completely ignore them like they ignore climate scientists and environmentalists.

Ok yes. “But then why does it need to be in the constitution” because the Coalition disbanded every non constitutionally recognised group that has ever been created.

Clouds - Phoenician Club, Sydney December 1991 (www.youtube.com)

I’m going to bang on about this band again. So much to like, the harmonies, Jodi’s Rickenbacker, the heart shaped tuning pegs on Trish’s bass. They were part of the original Australian boom in “alternative” music and I cherish several of the recordings I own. Strangely, I never saw them live, which is why I quite enjoy...

The Clouds are great. I saw them again in about 2016-17 and they were just as good as they were in the early nineties.
