The more detailed comments were more for myself to review my thought process if needed. If this were to be used professionally I would have just removed them entirely. I see what you mean about function nomenclature though. Thanks!
Aging gamers were reportedly delighted to see that a new video game called Eldric Quest has accessibility features catered specifically to people their age who do not have enough time to actually play a video game....
I actually agree with what you’re trying to say about microtransactions cheapening competitive games. It’s why I stopped playing competitive games altogether, but introducing proper casual modes for singleplayer or PvE co-op games for no additional cost to increase accessibility only helps increase the number of potential players. The existance of casual modes does not have any correlation with competitive games or takes away from another player’s time invested into the same game, and it will not cause the “death” of video games. The reason why people are disagreeing with you is because you’re blaming other players as the cause when it’s actually corporate greed with overinflated MTX and excessive season pass shit that’s truely killing the industry.
Step 1 is to go to the Magazines tab at the top of the page, and start browsing what our local instance here has to offer. But if you want to explore the wider world of the threadiverse, check out the list below:...
I’d definitely recommend Cassette Beasts as the newest kid on the block in the monster taming genre, but my backlog is infinitely expanding so I might skip this sale personally

Personally it’s just because I reeeeeeeally don’t want to use Reddit’s mobile app, and I still would like to see notifications for content that isn’t usually conducive to open discussion, like r/gamedeals for example.
On another note, how do I subscribe to any of these from kbin? I tried !(subredditname)@lemmit.online but it doesn’t seem to recognize the address when I search for it :(
I’m also hoping we’ll get a way to expand the image while still embedded in the feed instead of opening it in fullscreen and having it block everything else
So, I'm new to the Fediverse as it seems that Reddit is a sinking ship. I've been trying to figure out how to customize my feed so I only see content from the Magazines that I subscribe. Like how you can customize your feed on Reddit to only show posts from subreddits that you were in....
I'm looking for PC games that I can play while listening to podcasts- games that don't have engaging cut scenes or important dialogue, games that honestly don't require a lot of skill or thought....
I’ve actually gotten back into Guild Wars 2 for the first time since its release over a decade ago, and I’m really enjoying all the new content they added. It SEEMS complicated with all the MMO-style currencies but you can honestly ignore most of them and go at your own pace because there’s so much to do but none of it is required to have fun. It’s even more casual if I’m using a low intensity character build, aka just left click in combat to win
The back buttons are mandatory, and there’s a specific config someone made that I altered slightly for personal use, but I can’t remember the creator’s name. It was the highest used one at the time I downloaded it though. There’s definitely a small learning curve, but the reward is portable access to a great MMO!
Honestly I absolutely love the customizable nature of the Deck for individual programs, especially because I was able to pair 4 different build and equipment tabs to each of the face buttons so I can swap between all 3 elite specs for my engi main. I just wish they had official controller support with their UI like how I’ve seen FFXIV’s hotbar with multiple on-screen “pages” you can flip through easily.
New players don’t seem to realize that you can completely ignore the personal story. It just gives you something to do (and some rewards like while getting to level 80, which is really easy nowadays. I would recommend you make a few alt characters to try out different classes and see which one you like the most. Just take it slow and try whatever looks interesting and dont feel obligated to stick with one activity! No need to learn everything all at once :p
Zom 100 looks promising, but the crown jewel for me will probably be Mushoku Tensei. I’ll finally get to find out why childhood friend elf girl is wearing Kamina glasses!
Although my first anime was back during early childhood (back when anime programme block was a regular thing in Indonesian television). @Cavalarrr that’s a good point. I think it boils down to the population size for each instance. My knowledge of how fediverse works is still pretty limited, but if kbin ends up becoming the predominant “Reddit-like” instance, I’d like to believe the name could still catch on
As a former redditor I am glad to have found a new "home" and I hope I'm not intruding. Nevertheless, we are all a huge migration that is bound to change how kbin works and we're bound to piss off some pre-migration Keebinetters. The fact you guys were here before and not in reddit makes evident you don't want this to become a...
Right now, I’m playing the early access version of Baldurs Gate 3. I’m getting ready to put it down (frustrated: BG3 has the potential to be good, but without controller support, I’m getting really frustrated with the UI. ) and switch to Yakuza Like a Dragon. What are you playing now and what are you looking forward to...
Guild Wars 2 with custom controller config. Back buttons are a godsend for that game! It also allows me camp at the trading post and make money while watching TV hehe
Hey all! recent reddit/twitter transplant and I'm trying to figure out how to get the most out of the fediverse and I really don't know? The lack of centralization is amazing, but it's also a bit overwhelming to try to figure out where people congregate and where to talk to people, especially when lemmy/kbin are so small...
It would be nice to automatically generate a sidebar of other instances that cover the same topic in the magazine/subreddit of your home instance that you’re currently browsing, because right now if I want to follow “gaming” as a general topic outside the kbin.social magazine, I have to search for it manually on those other instances or find someone from my home instance who posted a comment with the address to that topic in the external instance.
I’m sure each site has its own priorities right now, but a more streamlined search method for topics/interests would be awesome.
