If it becomes available for Kbin that would be wonderful...

yungsinatra, to RedditMigration in We Should Focus On Building Kbin, Not Getting Back at Reddit. Here's How We Do It.

Ah it seems I wasn't the only one who thought about this - https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration/t/38958/Bot-that-will-repost-reddit-content-to-kbin-fediverse#entry-comment-159480 !!! Fully support this idea, will join the magazine and see how I can contribute to mirroring content from Reddit to Kbin.

Ah, if Obsidian would've supported hand written notes using a stylus or something, I would've switched instantly. It's sad cause I don't want to keep using Samsung Notes tbh, but it feels like my best option so far.

The problem is, from what I know, that there's no full API documentation for Kbin available yet, so an app for Kbin is not possible to make now. Yeah, the option would be to create it for Lemmy and then just federate with Kbin.

yungsinatra, to RedditMigration in Bot that will "repost" reddit content to kbin/fediverse?

I don't mind doing it manually (I was planning to do it for now anyway), but it would be nice to have an automated process for that. Plus, I don't think Reddit will ever allow content migration to Fediverse, considering they were censoring stuff related to Kbin/Lemmy a few days ago...

Don't platforms like Facebook or Instagram have detection against web scraping and they ban you really fast for that or something similar? I'd imagine Reddit would have some protection against that as well, no?

yungsinatra, to kbinMeta in /kbin - Just Reddit Things update

I'm a really big fan of this idea of using Kbin/Fediverse, but I've noticed that many magazines/communities (especially the ones from Lemmy) are not being updated properly on Kbin (posts/threads just straight up missing on Kbin while I can see them on the Lemmy instance). Just to clarify, is this a temporary issue or has this always been like this?

Never really thought about it! Thanks, will take a look

I don't think it has copyright implications, as the other user has shown, unless it's some original work. I wouldn't mind the posts on the Fediverse mentioning the original authors on Reddit and even linking back to the post just in case.

I'm not sure I understand how I could use polling in this case. Would I just keep sending requests to the endpoint to see if there are any new messages sent or something like that?

Will take a look at that, thanks!

yungsinatra, to foss in Looking for OneNote Alternative

Can you use that with a tablet to make hand written notes?

yungsinatra, (edited ) to RedditMigration in Bot that will "repost" reddit content to kbin/fediverse?

Yep, saw another user mention this as well. I never knew this was possible, makes things so much easier haha.

I haven't checked Kbin's API documentation, but I assume (and hope) there is a post API endpoint.

edit: Just checked and it seems like you're only able to do GET requests at the moment (link to docs). Will be waiting for updates from @ernest in this case.
