@NanoRaptor Dear Tim Apple,
RE: my previous letter about bringing back the black option for the Mac mini, I would also settle for a NeXTstation mini in lieu. Either original hardware or modern internals are acceptable, so long as the exterior is identical to the example attached.
Yours in retro,

@phranck@martin@NanoRaptor I had Previously running previously and it was a dog on even fast hardware. I have yet to acquire a Pi 5, but I wouldn't even attempt it on anything slower.
I'm a bit puzzled though as vMac (also an m68k core) seems plenty fast. I don't know if there's something about NeXT hardware that's slow to emulate or if Previous just needs some optimizations.
@phranck@tommythorn@NanoRaptor My biggest gripe so far is that it's historically accurate slow. (emulating a 33MHz Motorola 68040)
I got spoilt by NeXTSTEP running in VMware on modern hardware. But I guess there's a price to pay for emulating a different hardware architecture instead of merely virtualizing it
@phranck@tommythorn@NanoRaptor That's disappointing. The emulator gets laggy at times and the mouse pointer takes seconds to update its position.

Can't recommend
@phranck@NanoRaptor Outstanding! I don't know your plans, but this would be a total hit as a Raspberry Pi 5 case with LCD display. I'd totally make that to complement my MacMini
@phranck@NanoRaptor I have it sitting under my iMac, running xscreensaver 24/7. It's very cute, but the tiny 3.5" 640x480 is too small to be more than a toy. I'd like it to be a bit larger so I could use it for something useful (say, perma-display of my calendar).
