Native Americans in New Mexico — home to 22 federally recognized tribal communities and holdings of an Oklahoma-based tribe — were among the last to gain access to voting, decades after the U.S. extended birthright citizenship to the land’s original inhabitants on June 2, 1924 through the Indian Citizenship Act.

That legislation took shape in the aftermath of World War I in which thousands of Native Americans had volunteered to serve overseas in the military.

Evidence suggests AI isn’t nearly the productivity booster it has been touted as, says Peter Cappelli, a professor of management at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. While these systems can help some people do their jobs, they can’t actually replace them & are unlikely to reduce payroll. He compares it to the way that self-driving trucks have been slow to arrive, in part because it turns out that driving a truck is just one part of a truck driver’s job.

In textile factories, meat plants & roofing companies, immigrant children work in clear violation of the law, & few folks seem that concerned, especially at the #Alabama Attorney General’s office.

Marshall, it seems, is more preoccupied with what’s happening in the Big Apple than who’s working for Fruit of the Loom.

Same scene occurs with better ending in The Expanse when Miller cock-blocks the blooming romance between Dresden (who feeds humans to the alien "protomolecule" to accelerate its evolution) and the resistance leaders -- James Holden and Fred Johnson -- who are entranced by Dresden's elevator pitch.
