I don't see a lot about this, and I don't know enough about her, but from what I can tell, E. Jean Carroll is one smart, courageous woman. And it's a shame she went through what she did. Ick.

Apparently, Donald #Trump doesn’t think he owes E. Jean #Carroll enough money yet. So he’s decided to defame her again.
Maggie Haberman reporting:
-Trump is saying he knew "nothing about" E. Jean Carroll and attacking the $91 million verdict. Says when he said it was false, "I got sued for defamation."
-Trump says Judge Kaplan
"treated me like a common criminal."
-"This woman is not a believable person," Trump says.
"Although the animosity between the witness and the defendant is palpable, providing Cohen with an incentive to lie, the court found his testimony credible," Engoron wrote in a February ruling cited by Bragg's office on Tuesday.
#metoo https://www.n-tv.de/politik/US-Autorin-Carroll-plant-etwas-das-Trump-hasst-article24698039.html
I refer to my real father, who was an attorney, as the 48-Hour Father because I could pack all the phone calls and visits and lunches and trips together into about 48 hours.
I'm sure however few lessons he may have taught me in this life would fit onto one hand. Still, one thing he said that I took to heart was, if ever in court, don't disrespect the judge.
He's dead now about 18 years. Times have changed, courtrooms are media circuses. And juries don't like it when you disrespect the judge.
"Trump's 'disrespectful' behavior during E. Jean Carroll trial turned the jury against him and saddled him with an $83.3 million bill, legal experts say"
Re the #Trump verdict for #Carroll, a ratio of about 3.5:1 for punitive damages to compensatory is a good one likely to be upheld as complying with due process. #law#lawfedi#legal
"There is a VERDICT in #Carroll v. Trump case.
It is expected to be read aloud in court in five minutes, per the court.
Trump isn't in court right now as we await the recitation of the verdict."

"Andy (clerk): 7.1 million... 11 million... punitives: $65 million
Judge Kaplan; Members of the jury, there was years ago a respected judge of this court would made it a practice never to thank a jury. Judge Weinfeld thought it was a duty - I think juries should be thanked."
"On Friday, Kaplan made an appearance on CNN where she discussed the verdict with host Anderson Cooper, during which time she said that that the former president, who remains the overwhelming favorite for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, had committed perjury during the course of the second trial."
The writer is seeking at least $10 million in damages from the former president for repeatedly defaming her after she accused him of sexually abusing her.
