"#MANILA, #Philippines — A 5.0-magnitude #earthquake struck #Calaca town in #Batangas province on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (#Phivocls) said.

In an initial bulletin, the agency reported that the temblor hit at 8:24 a.m. as its epicenter was traced five kilometers southwest of Calaca.

The quake was of tectonic origin with a 14-kilometer depth of focus."
