Who on god's green earth thought, it would be a good idea to parse the current version information out of a "changelog" file, and not from a "rules" file, that also defines it? Looking at you, .

In my opinion having the version in the changelog only is a great idea. It reduces redundancy, because there is only one place to write the version number in, and it ensures you don't forget adding changelog entries.
